Loosest possible tolerances

Stent Delivery Instrument
Analyzing the difficulty with which doctors manipulate their stent delivery systems demonstrated their need for a handle with improved control. Within an ultrasonically welded housing rests a precise insert-molded metal gear, offering the ease of mechanical advantage and reducing manufacturing costs. Humanfactors created a complete drawing package and performed an in depth stress analysis and tolerance study, learning how the device’s overly tight tolerances needlessly wear down moving components and create difficulties in assembly. With a sleek comfortable handle in place, Humanfactors created the loosest possible tolerances that still maintained optimal performance, saving additional manufacturing costs.
